Virginia Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting Radiology services in a fully remote capacity, the Virginia Certified Coding Specialist will ensure coding accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely reimbursement while collaborating with a team focused on quality and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assign accurate CPT, ICD-10, and modifier coding for radiology procedures and services
• Analyze clinical documentation to support compliant coding and reimbursement practices
• Identify and resolve coding discrepancies, edits, and documentation-related issues

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 2+ years of relevant coding experience required, preferably in Radiology
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical documentation interpretation
• Experience with National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits and payer-specific requirements
