Virginia Certified Oncology Data Specialist
Job Summary
To support a growing Cancer Registry Team, the part-time Virginia Certified Oncology Data Specialist will manage the abstraction and reporting of newly diagnosed cancer cases while ensuring compliance with facility procedures in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and follow up on newly diagnosed cancer cases through abstraction and case finding
- Ensure accurate reporting of all identified cases and maintain data integrity
- Regularly review and analyze pathology reports, diagnostic logs, and treatment logs
Required qualifications
- Certification and good standing with NCRA as an Oncology Data Specialist
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Oncology Data Specialist or Cancer Registry roles
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and cancer registry software
- Preferred familiarity with CoC, NAPBC accreditation, and State/FCDS Abstractor Code
- Must be based in the United States
