Virginia Licensed Alternate Facility Security Officer

Job Summary

To support the operational needs of a classified facility, the hybrid Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO) will manage the personnel security program, oversee clearance actions, and coordinate security briefings while working closely with the Facility Security Officer.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the full clearance lifecycle in DISS, including initiation, tracking, and final adjudication for all personnel
• Administer the SCI access program and coordinate indoctrination and debriefing documentation with government security representatives
• Conduct security briefings and maintain complete records for all cleared personnel, ensuring compliance with NISPOM requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at time of hire; fully adjudicated, no interim clearances considered
• 5+ years of progressive personnel security and industrial security experience in a cleared DoD contractor environment
• Demonstrated proficiency with DISS and in-depth knowledge of NISPOM and its application in an industrial security program
• Experience administering SCI access programs and conducting employee security briefings in a multi-classification environment
• FSO certification via CDSE or demonstrable progress toward completion required
