Job Summary

A company is looking for an Appeals Attorney.

Key Responsibilities

• Advocate for and assist veterans and their dependents in preparing and presenting claims for benefits
• Educate veterans and dependents on available services and benefits from Virginia and the federal government
• Conduct outreach to promote the agency and its programs

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Graduation from an accredited college or university and an ABA accredited law school
• Licensure before the highest court of any state or federal bar
• Eligibility for licensure to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims
• Considerable knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to veterans' benefits
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in veterans' law is strongly preferred
