Virginia Licensed Area Forester

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Area Forester responsible for forest management and harvesting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee timber harvesting operations including planning, contract administration, and quality inspections
• Develop site-specific silviculture prescriptions and administer local silviculture programs
• Collaborate with external consultants and state agencies to minimize casualty losses and support non-timber revenue opportunities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in forestry or related field, or comparable experience
• Minimum of 2 years' forest management experience preferred
• Valid driver's license and insurable with the company's commercial carrier
• Strong computer and analytical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office365 and GIS (ESRI)
• Knowledge of key financial concepts applicable to business decisions
