Virginia Licensed Biology Adjunct

Job Summary

To support student learning in various environments, the part-time Virginia Licensed Biology Adjunct will teach biology courses, engage with students, and provide timely feedback while adhering to college policies across multiple campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Create a learning environment that facilitates student knowledge and skill acquisition in biology
• Deliver instruction aligned with course learning outcomes and employ active learning strategies
• Provide timely feedback on assignments and hold office hours to support student engagement

Required qualifications

• Master's Degree in Biology or a graduate degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Biology
• College teaching experience in Biology, including lecture and lab settings
• Experience teaching General Biology, Microbiology, and/or Anatomy and Physiology
• Knowledge of learning management systems such as CANVAS
• Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format
