Virginia Licensed Civil Engineer

Job Summary

To support large capital projects at Surry Power Station, the contract Sr. Civil / Structural Engineer will develop and review design changes, calculations, and technical evaluations while collaborating with engineering teams in a remote-friendly environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review design changes and technical evaluations for nuclear facility upgrades
• Collaborate with engineering teams and manufacturers to ensure compliance with technical specifications
• Support projects including water intake piping replacement and crane replacements

Required qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license (Virginia preferred or obtainable via reciprocity)
• Recent commercial nuclear power experience (within the last 3 years)
• Strong background in steel and concrete structural design within nuclear standards
• B.S. in Civil, Structural, or Engineering Mechanics
• Experience with design changes and engineering calculations related to 10 CFR 50.59 screenings/evaluations
