Job Summary
To support a growing health information management team, the full-time remote Virginia Licensed Coder II will accurately code and report ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and CPT codes, generate queries for clarification from physicians, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines while maintaining productivity standards.
Key responsibilities
- Accurately enter and manage coding data to meet established accuracy and billing drop deadlines
- Generate coding queries based on clinical evidence in patient records and maintain compliance with coding standards
- Report and resolve charge issues, ensuring correct DRG/APC assignments and adherence to productivity standards
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Certification as a CCS or CPC
- Experience as an outpatient coder with coding certification
- Eligibility to work in the United States and meet Virginia state employment requirements
- Proficiency in coding and abstracting software and applications used in health information management
