Job Summary
To support accurate reimbursement and documentation integrity, the remote Virginia Licensed Coding Quality Specialist will leverage advanced coding expertise in cardiology services while performing professional fee coding and quality review functions for complex physician services within an academic medical center.
Key responsibilities
- Review and code inpatient and specialty physician services across cardiology and related procedural areas
- Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and modifier coding while ensuring compliance with payer and regulatory requirements
- Perform coding quality reviews, audits, and educational activities to improve coding performance and support compliance initiatives
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 5+ years of relevant coding experience required, with a preference for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery E&M and procedure experience
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
