Job Summary

To foster student engagement and learning, the part-time Virginia Licensed Criminal Justice Adjunct will plan, organize, and deliver instruction in various formats, including classroom, remote, and online environments, while providing timely feedback and support to students.

Key responsibilities:

• Create a learning environment that facilitates the acquisition of knowledge and skills in criminal justice
• Align course activities with learning outcomes and employ active learning strategies to engage students
• Conduct assessments of student learning and provide meaningful feedback on course activities and assignments

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field, or an Associate's degree with demonstrated teaching competency
• Two years of related occupational experience
• Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format
• Experience with teaching strategies that promote student success
• Familiarity with learning management systems such as Canvas
