Job Summary
Supporting the VA ESOM contract, the full-time Remote Cyber Risk Mitigation Engineer will identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks affecting application recovery and resilience, assess vulnerabilities, and develop actionable recommendations while working remotely within the United States.
Key responsibilities
- Identify cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security dependencies impacting application recovery
- Develop and define cyber-focused exercise objectives and evaluate coordination between contingency and incident response plans
- Document cyber findings and develop specific mitigation recommendations with measurable completion criteria
Required qualifications
- Master's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 10 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity engineering, incident response, or related fields
- Knowledge of identity and access management, network security, and secure restoration practices
- Experience with NIST contingency planning controls is preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance
