Virginia Licensed IT Security Manager

Job Summary

Leading the development of cyber defense capabilities, the full-time Virginia Licensed IT Security Manager will oversee Security Operations personnel and manage incident response, threat intelligence, and security automation in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily SOC monitoring, alert triage, and incident response while managing analysts and establishing a sustainable coverage model
• Build and mature incident response procedures and coordinate high-severity incident responses across various departments
• Develop detection engineering programs and establish metrics, dashboards, and performance management for cybersecurity operations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 10+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing Security Operations or SOC teams
• Demonstrated experience in building SOC capabilities and incident response programs
• Proven success implementing SIEM, EDR, and automated response capabilities
• Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, and relevant cloud security certifications
