Job Summary
To support a diverse student body, the part-time Virginia Licensed Maritime Technology Instructor will plan, organize, and teach courses in Technical Drawing, Materials, Quality Assurance, and Maritime-related subjects, providing timely feedback and engaging with students both in-person and online.
Key responsibilities:
- Create a learning environment that facilitates knowledge and skill acquisition in the maritime technology discipline
- Align course activities with learning outcomes and employ active learning strategies to enhance student engagement
- Deliver instruction and conduct assessments while adhering to college policies and providing feedback on student performance
Required qualifications:
- Associate Applied Science Degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology or related field
- Two years of related occupational experience
- Effective communication skills in an electronic format
- Knowledge of Canvas or other learning management systems
- Experience with proven teaching strategies that promote student success
