Virginia Licensed Patient Education Nurse

Job Summary

Providing individualized education and support to patients and caregivers, the part-time Virginia Licensed Patient Education Nurse will deliver virtual counseling on diagnoses, treatment plans, and symptom management while maintaining current knowledge of oncology best practices and emerging therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive virtual education and counseling regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and supportive care therapies
• Assess patient learning needs and develop individualized education plans to promote treatment adherence
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure consistent patient education and maintain up-to-date educational materials

Required qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
• Current RN license and registration with the State Board of Nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Five years of nursing experience, with at least one year in specialty care preferred
• Specialty certification preferred
