Virginia Licensed Product Counsel

Job Summary

Seeking a Virginia Licensed Product Counsel, the full-time remote attorney will provide practical legal advice throughout the product development lifecycle, advising cross-functional teams on complex legal issues while managing risk and supporting innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Advise Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders on legal issues during product development
• Review new products and initiatives, providing timely legal guidance that balances risk and innovation
• Counsel teams on intellectual property, software licensing, privacy, and regulatory considerations

Required qualifications

• J.D. and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
• 4-7 years of relevant legal experience counseling SaaS companies
• Experience advising on open-source software licensing and compliance is a bonus
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
• Experience using AI tools to enhance legal workflow efficiency
