Job Summary

To support advanced nuclear technology development, the full-time Virginia Licensed Safety Analysis Engineer will perform safety evaluations and analyses for reactor designs, ensuring compliance with safety bases and licensing requirements, with the position based in Lynchburg, VA, and potential for remote work depending on qualifications.

Key responsibilities:
  • Develop analytical methods and models for various operational occurrences and accident scenarios related to reactor designs
  • Perform engineering calculations and simulations related to nuclear safety and risk assessments
  • Prepare documentation and interact with stakeholders to support safety evaluations and analyses
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, nuclear, or similar discipline)
  • Minimum of seven years of related experience in safety analysis
  • Strong nuclear-thermal-hydraulic analytical skills and experience with industry computer codes (e.g., RELAP5-3D, GOTHIC)
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DOE or DOD security clearance
