Job Summary

To support clients in achieving self-sufficiency, the full-time Virginia Licensed Self-Sufficiency Specialist will perform casework and administrative tasks, provide employment counseling and support services, and collaborate with community resources in an inclusive team environment.

Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' employment history, goals, and barriers, developing tailored activity and service plans
  • Provide job readiness training and supportive services, including counseling on job search techniques, budgeting, and family planning
  • Maintain accurate case files and collaborate with community agencies to facilitate access to employment services and resources
Required qualifications:
  • High school diploma supplemented with additional training and related work experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Experience working effectively within a team environment
  • Knowledge of employment counseling techniques and casework strategies promoting self-sufficiency
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish working relationships with clients and community partners
  • Valid driver's license and compliance with the County's safe driver policy
