Job Summary

Providing advanced-level expertise in the review, drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex research agreements, the full-time salaried Virginia Licensed Senior Contract Reviewer will serve as a primary institutional contracting resource, ensuring compliance with university policies and regulations while mitigating institutional risk in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the review, drafting, and negotiation of high-complexity research agreements, ensuring alignment with university policies and sponsor requirements
• Provide expert guidance to faculty and stakeholders regarding contract terms, regulatory requirements, and compliance obligations
• Mentor junior contract reviewers and support training initiatives to enhance institutional contracting capacity

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and extensive experience
• 3-5 years of progressive professional experience in research administration, focusing on complex contract negotiation
• Proven ability to analyze and apply regulatory and contractual requirements, including federal, state, and local laws
• Advanced experience with Research Administration Management Systems (RAMS-SPOT) or similar electronic databases
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
