Job Summary
To support a growing clean energy practice, the full-time Virginia Licensed Senior Electrical Engineer will lead electrical engineering efforts for solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS), focusing on the design and development of high-quality engineering solutions in a remote or hybrid work environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of solar PV and BESS projects, including creating system designs and performance studies
- Prepare solar array layouts and design protection schemes, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards
- Mentor junior engineers and support multiple projects while conducting QA/QC reviews and field investigations
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on power systems or renewable energy
- 5+ years of electrical design experience, including 3-4 years in renewable energy projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering analysis software
- Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and UL standards, and utility-scale solar PV system design
- Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license within 2 years and possess a valid driver's license with a clean record
