Virginia Licensed Speech-Language Assistant

Job Summary

To support students with communication challenges, the part-time Virginia Licensed Speech-Language Assistant will provide therapy services under supervision, develop progress reports, and ensure compliance with educational regulations while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Implement speech and language services as outlined in each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP)
• Communicate with parents and teachers to develop schedules that promote student participation and attendance
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and interventions

Required qualifications

• Active speech-language pathology assistant license issued by the state department of education
• Associate's Degree in Speech Communication or a related field, along with two years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requirements
• Ability to work independently for at least 20 hours per week during typical school hours
• Proficiency in MS365 and ability to clear a required background check
