Virginia Licensed Staff Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Counsel to manage moderately complex civil litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage all phases of litigation, including legal research, drafting documents, and leading settlement negotiations
• Support senior attorneys in case handling through trial preparation and management
• Develop and implement advanced legal strategies for discovery and trial preparation

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the bar in Virginia and in good standing
• Minimum of 5 years of trial attorney experience, preferably in insurance law
• Proven experience managing moderately complex litigation with favorable outcomes
• General knowledge of insurance law
