Virginia Licensed Surgical Technology Adjunct

Job Summary

To support student learning in surgical technology, the part-time Virginia Licensed Surgical Technology Adjunct will plan, organize, and teach courses in a classroom, remote, or online environment while providing timely feedback and engaging with students outside of class.

Key responsibilities

• Create a learning environment that facilitates the acquisition of knowledge and skills in surgical technology
• Align course activities with student learning outcomes and employ various active learning strategies
• Deliver instruction and conduct meaningful assessments of student learning while adhering to college policies

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or a related field
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology education program
• National certification in surgical technology through an NCCA-accredited program
• Minimum of two years of experience in the operating room scrub role or as a surgical technology instructor within the past five years
• Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format
