Virginia Licensed Telephone Triage Nurse

Job Summary

To support the Advice Line team at a cancer center in Fairfax, the full-time Virginia Licensed Telephone Triage Nurse will assess patient needs over the phone, collaborate with healthcare providers, and document care in medical records, with potential for remote work after six months of successful employment.

Key responsibilities:

• Addresses patient calls, portal messages, and emails in a timely manner
• Utilizes computerized algorithms to assess patient symptoms and manage a wide range of symptoms effectively
• Collaborates with physicians to discuss patient care needs that require emergency intervention or outpatient clinic visits

Required qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
• Current RN state license and registration with the State Board of Nursing
• 3 to 5 years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Oncology certification preferred
