Job Summary
Managing a diverse caseload from inception through resolution, the full-time Virginia Licensed Workers Comp Associate will provide strategic legal counsel, represent clients in court and arbitrations, and perform extensive legal research and drafting.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct legal analysis of claims and causes of action while managing deadlines and assignments independently
- Draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and respond to discovery requests, collaborating closely with partners and clients
- Represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions, preparing for trials and retaining expert witnesses as needed
Required qualifications:
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Virginia; additional bar admissions are a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant practice group
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Experience with administrative proceedings, depositions, and mediations
