Job Summary

Managing procurement and administrative activities for VIMS departments, the full-time Virginia Purchasing Coordinator will work under general supervision to ensure compliance with policies and procedures while processing payments and vendor relations on-site.

Key responsibilities
  • Manages procurement and administrative activities for VIMS departments, ensuring compliance with State and University policies
  • Independently troubleshoots vendor payment issues and prepares, issues, and manages procurement for goods and services
  • Reconciles monthly Small Purchase Charge Card (SPCC) transactions and maintains procurement records for auditing purposes
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience with automated accounting/financial systems and procurement processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Independent problem solver with the ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks
