Job Summary
A university that offers online programs for adult learners is in need of a Virtual Academic Center Writing Tutor.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Performing weekly tutoring sessions in accordance with established schedule and consistent with institution’s academic standards guidelines and tutoring policies
- Providing accurate, consistent student-centered feedback in a timely manner
- Participating in development projects and manage projects in absence of Academic Center Specialist
Position Requirements Include:
- Masters degree in Composition, English, Writing, Rhetoric, or related field
- 1 year of experience teaching or practicing in the field
- Practiced knowledge of MS Office and Google suite
- Ability to provide a positive student-centered atmosphere with patience and understanding
- Ability to revise, create, and enhance tutorials and reference materials and web spaces
- Ability to engage in relevant professional development, which is planned and approved by direct supervisor
