Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Client Advisor to provide strategic consulting services. The role works closely with clients providing support, guidance and advice on financial and operational strategy. The Client Advisor is responsible for developing a deep understanding of the client organization, working with the Pastor or Principal on matters of strategy, operational efficiency, business and financial planning.
The successful candidate will have experience managing financial operations in the nonprofit sector and ideally with finance/accounting experience in the Catholic Church. They will have a clear understanding of our core values and culture and be an excellent communicator. This position reports to the General Manager.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Consulting
Manage the accounting and financial services provided to our parish and school clients
Develop an understanding of the pastoral or strategic plan
Identify, through consultation with the Pastor or Principal, the key actions necessary to achieve the pastoral or strategic plan
Support client leadership in key decisions concerning operational efficiency
Analyze and communicate operational and financial results, explaining key drivers of variances
Create ad-hoc reports as needed to serve the business needs of the client
Report financial results to the pastor, principal, their delegates, appropriate advisory councils and the community
Identify technology requirements and coordinate implementations
Work closely with the SJFS operational and accounting support team to deliver exceptional service
Relationship Management
Build and maintain relationships with clients and key personnel at client sites
Conduct weekly review meetings (via Zoom) with the client
Attend finance council and/or pastoral council meetings (via Zoom) at the request of the client
Liaising with internal departments to ensure client needs are fulfilled effectively
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business, finance or economics
Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats
Parish Business management experience and or School Business management experience a plus
Strong interpersonal skills combined with business acumen, analytical ability and consulting experience
Ability to prepare and deliver management-level presentations
Comfortable with a range of office and accounting platforms (NetSuite, Bill.com, Tableau, Office 365)
Self-starter with ability to work on an evolving environment
Ability to manage priorities in a high-demand environment to meet deadlines
