Job Summary
A healthcare company has a current position open for a Virtual Hospital Medical Coder II in Vancouver.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Reviewing the medical record to assure specificity of diagnoses and procedures for code assignments
- Researching and providing education to providers and staff regarding coding and compliance issues
- Abstracting information from medical records following established methods and procedures
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Successful completion of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology courses
- Successful completion of college based coding program
- 5 years of work experience abstracting and coding impatient or ambulatory surgery records
- Knowledge of acute care and critical access reimbursement requirements
- CPC-H, CCS, CPC, or CPCH required within six months of hire
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
