Job Summary
A staffing agency is seeking a Virtual Inpatient Coder.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to patient charts
- Abiding by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by AHIMA
- Abstracting required clinical information from the medical record
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- AHIMA or AAPC approved credentials
- At least 1-3 years of medical coding in an acute care setting
- Knowledge of MS-DRG classification and reimbursement structures
- Understanding of appropriate level of care orders
- Working knowledge of Value Based Purchasing
- Proficient at writing AHIMA complaint physician queries
