Job Summary
A healthcare company is filling a position for a Virtual Inpatient Medical Coder.
Must be able to:
- Review inpatient health records
- Assign ICD diagnosis and procedure codes
- Review outpatient records and assign E&M codes
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- Prior Inpatient Coding experience
- Knowledge of coding practices (acquired through an Associate's degree or equivalent program)
- RHIT accreditation and/or certification in coding by a recognized professional organization
- Accreditation/certification required within 18 months of hire
- High level of interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and initiative
- Ability to screen medical records for compliance with pre-approved criteria
