About our team…
Virtual Vocations operates with a dedicated, hard-working, fun, friendly, slightly sarcastic, and highly collaborative team. We are completely distributed, but are great at communicating via Slack. We are looking for someone who shares these qualities to join our team as a Job Quality Specialist.
The basics…
The purpose of a Job Quality Specialist at Virtual Vocations is to help job seekers quickly find available telecommute job leads that match their skills and qualifications. This is done by categorizing and creating summaries of job leads in our system.
This is a 1099 contractor position, and work needs to be completed between the hours of 6:30 am and 12:00pm EST Monday through Friday to meet the needs of our customers. We are expecting that the duties of this position will take 4-5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, to complete.
Contractors are paid for the number of job leads they accurately code and add to the database. The pay equates to $10-$22 per hour, depending on your speed and accuracy. Contractors invoice the company, are paid monthly on a net-30 basis, and must have the ability to receive direct deposit payment.
Specific job duties…
To help ensure a positive experience for our customers, Job Quality Specialists are responsible for:
· Reviewing and verifying information in online employment ads
· Accurately identifying key points in employment ads and entering them in our form
· Coding employment ads in our database to ensure our customers are getting accurate search results
· Meeting daily metrics
· Self-checking your work for accuracy
· Responding to management requests
· Complying with data integrity and security policies

We’re not going to sugar coat this – it’s a hard job to learn in the beginning. We will give you the time, attention, and tools needed to learn the job, but ultimately, it’s up to you to succeed.
If you don’t invest the time to learn the job and strive to improve daily, you won’t make much money and will probably quit. We've seen it happen in the past and we want to avoid future instances, so if you can't work undisturbed (this job does not lend itself to multi-tasking) or you don’t have additional time to study and master the role, please save us all the trouble and skip applying.
· Fluent typing speed
· Exceptional spelling, grammar, and punctuation
· The ability to write and speak English fluently
· The discipline to consistently complete daily contracted work
· Excellent web-based research skills (are you a Google Master?)
· A keen eye for detail – can quickly read and recognize pertinent information
· Computer literacy in a Windows environment
· The ability to follow directions, adhere to established guidelines and learn from constructive criticism
· The patience and determination to learn the position (but we’re here to help and we’re friendly!)
· The capability to maintain confidentiality
· The skill to communicate in a remote environment (This is a big one since we're a virtual company)
· The consideration to respond to communication within the same day
· The dependability to work in a virtual, self-driven production environment
· A reliable high-speed internet connection and the necessary computer software (we don’t provide these)
· A laptop or desktop computer – no working on smartphones or tablets
· A high comfort level with repetitive work. The content of the job leads varies daily, but the job can get monotonous at times
