Virtual Pet Insurance Underwriter

Job Summary

An insurance company is in need of a Virtual Pet Insurance Underwriter.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

• Evaluating and rating applications requiring additional evidence of insurability
• Analyzing requests for exceptions to underwriting policy and develops rationale to support the decisions made
• Using veterinary clinical judgement in accepting, modifying or rejecting risks based on a review of medical reports

Qualifications for this position include:

• 3-5+ years of clinical experience as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting
• Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret veterinary medical, scientific and technical journals, etc
• Proven ability to understand and interpret medical records and supporting clinical documentation
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
