Job Summary
A healthcare advisory company has an open position for a Virtual Physician Advisory Services Appeals Author.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Conducting detailed review of patient medical records and payer denial information submitted by clients
- Assessing the entire hospital stay and clinical course of patient
- Preparing written appeals or represents client at hearings (as needed)
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- Understanding of DRG/coding principles
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) active medical license
- At least 2 years of clinical experience is required
- Knowledge of, or experience in working with the verbal and written appeals process
- Must have experience with electronic medical record systems and proficiency with MS Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
