Job Summary

An academic healthcare system is seeking a Virtual Radiology Physician Coder Specialist in New Orleans.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Accurately assign ICD-10, CPT and/or HCPCS codes
• Ensure the data integrity of coded patient records
• Act as a resource by researching patient accounts in response to questions and/or errors

Required Skills:

• 1 year of coding experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly
• Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role
• Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and coding principles
