Job Summary

An online publication company is filling a position for a Virtual Scientific Publication Commentary Editor.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Commission, edit, schedule and produce the commentaries and associated art
• Identify compelling topics and authors
• Target and contact partner publications

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• BA/BS - in journalism or in the natural and social sciences preferred
• A minimum of 5 years of experience editing opinion, natural sciences or social sciences content
• At least 10 years of experience in journalism and a strong understanding of journalistic values and best practices
• Experience in writing or other communication of science or technical subjects for a general audience
• Experience and enthusiasm for working with scientists and scholars to translate their ideas for a general public
