Job Summary

Hiring Now for January Program Start

Littera Education is looking for passionate virtual math tutors to be part of an exciting program to help students close gaps in their mathematics knowledge as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This tutoring program, funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will include a research study measuring the impact of math tutoring on student achievement in both 1:1 and 1:3 tutor to student ratios. The results of the research study will be published and made available to school districts. Participating tutors will receive a certificate of participation at the end of the program. What a great addition to your resume!

At Littera Education, our mission supports equitable, high-quality tutoring working with students in school districts across the United States. Our high-dosage tutoring model pairs students with the same tutor for 3-4 sessions a week. Based on your availability you could be matched with multiple students a week. Tutoring opportunities will be between 9:00 and 7:00 pm EST. Sessions are typically 30, 45, or 60 minutes.

Are you ready to be part of this impactful work?
Are you motivated by the opportunity to make a difference and build relationships with students, while boosting their learning and self confidence?
Does the idea of tutoring from your home - while being part of a fully remote team committed to student success appeal to you?
Would you be available to tutor for this initiative between January and March of 2023 (with the ability to continue tutoring for Littera if you choose)?
If your answer to the above questions is yes, we invite you to apply today!

Program Details:

Tutoring will be with students in grades 6, 7, or 8 who need our help the most.
Curriculum will be provided - that means no prep for you!
Tutoring will be 1:1 or 1:3
Scheduling will be based on the availability that you indicate on your calendar.
Once you are scheduled, we ask that you commit to that schedule in order to provide the student(s) with a consistent tutoring experience to build a strong tutor:student relationship and support the efficacy of the research study. We know there are times when you might need a sub - and we have a sub team ready to step in!
Littera works with districts across the country and you can also choose to accept additional sessions for added tutoring opportunities.
