Job Summary

A publishing company has a current position open for a Virtual Weekend Assistant Social Media Editor.

Must be able to:

  • Schedule/publish content to our main social platforms
  • Maintain relationships with our news and social outreach partners
  • Work with editors/reporters to craft smart social promotion in a timely manner

Required Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of social platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, etc
  • Prior knowledge of social-media management systems (i.e., SocialFlow, TweetDeck, HootSuite)
  • Comfortable working and communicating remotely with other editors via Slack
  • Strong sense of voice and news judgment
  • Sensitivity to tone and accuracy in copy
  • Basic Adobe Photoshop and video-editing skills
