Job Summary

Social Light is seeking a web developer to support a variety of small business websites.

Though occasionally we have a small HTML project, the vast majority of websites will be built on WordPress.

You should to be comfortable enough with CSS, HTML and javascript to work with the wide variety of WordPress themes and customizations that our clients have.

Bonus points if you are able to work with APIs.

As a whole you will not have to interact directly with the client, and will work with a member of the Social Light team to plan and manage tasks.

We highly value individuals that can think on their feet and find solutions.

Your main responsibilities will include:
Customizing themes and building out websites per approved design - you don't need to be a designer, but you do need to have the attention to detail to make the site match the designs provided.
Sourcing, installing and setup plugins to meet client requirements
Working within membership platforms
Optimizing sites for speed and performance
Ongoing Site Maintenance
Error troubleshooting

In a perfect world you will be familiar with SEO and understand how to optimize alt tags, implement schema and other elements to gain better search engine exposure. This is not a requirement, but a bonus so if you have this knowledge please tell us about it.

This is a remote position that will likely start around 10 hours a week with plenty of room to grow. Hours are flexible.
