Job Summary

A university is filling a position for a Virtual Writing Instructor.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Helping to develop and participate in additional student-facing Writing Center projects and initiatives
• Teach writing topic sessions and advise students at on-site and/or virtual academic residencies
• Engaging with the broader community by participating in interdepartmental collaboration efforts

Qualifications Include:

• MA, MFA, or other graduate degrees in English, education, communication, or a related field
• 3-5 years of academic writing instruction and/or writing center work experience in higher education
• Proficiency in providing positive, constructive feedback to developmental writers in formative writing stages
• Superb command of academic English; ability to provide clear, quality written and verbal writing instruction
• Experience teaching writing to nontraditional students, students with disabilities/students with multiple language backgrounds
