VistA MUMPS Developer
Job Summary
Supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project, the full-time remote VistA MUMPS Developer will modify and enhance VistA applications to eliminate Social Security Number usage, analyze existing functionality, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary Agile team.
Key responsibilities:
- Modify VistA/MUMPS applications to replace SSN usage with enterprise identifiers
- Analyze existing routines and workflows to troubleshoot defects and implement secure code
- Develop and execute unit tests while supporting various testing and deployment activities
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience, with 5+ years of VistA/MUMPS development experience
- Strong hands-on experience programming within VistA using MUMPS/M and a comparable M-based platform
- Experience modifying VistA packages and analyzing workflows and application dependencies
- Familiarity with software debugging, source control, and Agile development practices
- Understanding of secure software development practices and ability to troubleshoot complex application issues
