Volunteer Coordinator

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to manage beach-nesting bird colonies and oversee volunteer efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to act as bird stewards at nesting colonies
• Coordinate volunteer schedules and perform steward duties as needed
• Lead field trips to the colony and assist with data collection and volunteer appreciation events

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in biology or a related field
• Experience in public speaking and interacting with the public
• Demonstrated interest in protecting coastal wildlife in North Carolina
• Knowledge of beach-nesting bird biology preferred
• Willingness to work in difficult weather conditions and on weekends and holidays
