VP Non-QM Underwriting
Job Summary
Managing the day-to-day operations of the Non-QM Underwriting team, the full-time VP Non-QM Underwriting will oversee loan assignments, provide coaching and support to underwriters, and ensure compliance with lending regulations while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the Underwriting team, ensuring prompt loan decisions and adherence to department turntimes
- Monitor underwriting quality, identify areas for improvement, and create targeted learning plans for staff development
- Partner with leadership to establish performance benchmarks and metrics for training effectiveness
Required qualifications:
- 7+ years of mortgage underwriting experience with knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines
- 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in mortgage underwriting or training
- In-depth knowledge of mortgage underwriting guidelines and regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and investor regulations
- Strong leadership and coaching skills to motivate and develop staff
