VP of Legal

Job Summary

Owning the entire legal function, the full-time remote VP of Legal will manage commercial contracts, corporate governance, IP, music licensing, international expansion, and compliance while reporting directly to the CFO.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee legal review and negotiation of enterprise agreements and commercial contracts across the full lifecycle
• Manage corporate governance tasks including board resolutions, entity maintenance, and corporate transactions across multiple jurisdictions
• Direct outside counsel management and provide advisory on compliance, data privacy, and emerging regulatory issues

Required qualifications

• 8-12 years PQE with experience at a top-tier law firm and in-house at a growth-stage technology company
• Demonstrated ability to operate as a sole or first in-house lawyer across multiple legal domains
• Experience with commercial contracts involving enterprise customers, ideally in retail, media, or SaaS
• Cross-border legal experience in the US and at least one of AU, UK, or LATAM
• Proficiency in managing outside counsel, including budget ownership and vendor selection
