Job Summary
To support coding operations, the full-time WA Licensed HIM Coder II will remotely code various medical services, including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
Key responsibilities:
- Code hospital, ambulatory surgical center, and clinic services using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards, tracking and reporting performance metrics
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance coding quality and team communication
Required qualifications:
- Completion of a vocational school/certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder, Registered Health Information Technician, or similar coding credential
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, along with medical billing compliance requirements
- Proficiency in MS Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key data entry skills
- Ability to abstract medical information from electronic or paper medical records
