Job Summary

To support coding operations, the full-time Washington Licensed HIM Coder will code various medical services including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, ensuring compliance with ICD-9 and ICD-10 guidelines while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:
  • Code hospital and clinic services by assigning appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes using encoding software
  • Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while tracking and reporting coding activities as required
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance team communication and coding efficiency
Required qualifications:
  • Vocational school/certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and coding guidelines
  • Certification as a Professional Coder, Health Information Technician, or equivalent coding certification
  • Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, as well as medical billing and compliance requirements
  • Computer skills in a Windows environment, including proficiency in Excel and 10-key
  • Ability to abstract medical information from electronic or paper medical records
