Washington Licensed HIM Coder

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Washington Licensed HIM Coder will be responsible for coding a variety of medical services, including hospital visits and procedures, while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining high standards of coding quality.

Key responsibilities:

• Code hospital, ambulatory surgical center, and clinic services using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while tracking and reporting coding activities
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance team communication and workflow efficiencies

Required qualifications:

• Completion of a vocational school or certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
• Certification as a Professional Coder or equivalent coding certification
• Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, as well as medical billing compliance requirements
• Proficiency in MS Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key data entry
• Strong customer service and organizational skills
