Job Summary
To support coding operations, the full-time Washington Licensed HIM Coder will manage the coding of various medical services, including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, while working remotely and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and billing standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Code hospital, ambulatory surgical center, and clinic services using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while tracking and reporting coding activities
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance team communication and coding quality
Required qualifications:
- Vocational school/certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and coding guidelines
- Certification as a Professional Coder or equivalent coding certification
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, as well as medical billing compliance requirements
- Computer skills in a Windows environment, including proficiency in Excel and 10-key
- Ability to abstract medical information from electronic or paper medical records
