Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, a Washington Licensed HIM Coder will be responsible for coding various medical services, including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and guidelines.

Key responsibilities:
  • Code hospital and clinic services using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, ensuring accurate assignment based on medical documentation
  • Maintain coding quality and productivity standards, tracking and reporting productivity metrics as required
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance team communication and workflow efficiencies
Required qualifications:
  • Completion of a vocational school or certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
  • Certification as a Professional Coder or equivalent coding certification
  • Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, as well as medical billing compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in MS Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key data entry
  • Understanding of electronic medical record systems and encoder applications is preferred
