Job Summary
To support healthcare services, the full-time remote Washington Licensed HIM Coder II will code a variety of medical services, including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining high standards of coding quality.
Key responsibilities:
- Code hospital and clinic services by assigning appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes using encoding software
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while tracking and reporting coding activities as required
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance team communication and workflow efficiencies
Required qualifications:
- Completion of a vocational school or certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and coding guidelines
- Certification as a Professional Coder, Registered Health Information Technician, or equivalent coding certification
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, E&M coding, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Familiarity with medical billing and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in MS Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key data entry
