Job Summary

To support coding operations, the full-time Washington Licensed HIM Coder II will remotely code a variety of services including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards, while ensuring compliance with industry guidelines and maintaining coding quality.

Key responsibilities:
  • Code hospital and clinic services by assigning appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes using encoding software
  • Maintain coding quality and productivity standards, tracking and reporting on coding activities as required
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance team communication and coding practices
Required qualifications:
  • Vocational school/certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
  • Certification as a Professional Coder or equivalent (e.g., Registered Health Information Technician)
  • Knowledge of ICD, CPT, E&M coding, and HCPCS coding in various healthcare settings
  • Familiarity with medical billing and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in MS Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key entry
